Embracing Japan – My Travel Experience

Take every chance you get in life, because some things happen only once.

Unkknown.

I remember the very first time I had my JAL flight towards Japan Narita Airport to see my sister and her family. It was already ten years ago. Everything felt so strange because you know nothing with the environment and when you go on a travel taking planes, going to the airport with the strict Philippine Embassy and Japan Embassy like you have no idea to which of the places you would go. So it was really an adventure. But glad I was able to arrived at the said date and time. Happily, I was able to have the sweet embrace of my dear sister and her Japanese family. My journey had started, like the experience being there was imprinted right next to my heart and soul. And every time I am there, the feelings grow into deeper and I know I am already loving Japan. Well aside from having my sister living there. There is that something very unique with the place and its people.

Now, I would like to share what I love the most in Japan.

  1. The very first thing very unique is there language. I like how they speak there language. And based on what I have learned from, there are three languages that they have. It’s Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. And the differences are that hiragana is used for phonetically spelling out Japanese words, so these are the words basically used by the Japanese people and katakana is for foreign words. Let’s say, katakana is used for writing English names. Katakana character strokes tend to be more straight while hiragana is more curvilinear. Kanji is not a phonetic syllabary. Instead it is a set of characters that represent whole words.
  2. The weather. They have four seasons: March to May is Spring, June to August is summer, September to November is autumn and December to February is winter. It’s freezing on winter, and well very hot on summer. Still the breeze is cold yet the sun is hot. And oh, Sakura or Cherry blossoms happens every spring. It’s lovely! And when it’s fall, you know winter is coming.
  3. The Japanese people. Oh how I admire them being so polite! They bow their heads when greeting with each other. They are very calm and discipline. I can see how hardworking they are. They devote much of their time on work, since work are very important to them.
  4. Their environment. I believe Japan is one of the richest places on earth. They are advanced with their technologies. Great infrastructures and buildings. Their place is very clean. They are very particular with proper waste disposal. They are also in close contact with their city offices to report any unusual things happening around. And yeah, vehicles and traffic are well organized. They even have the signal lights that permits the road crosser to pass anytime they are about to. Amazing!
  5. Their food. My favorites are Gyudon, I am always craving to have these. Chicken Karaage, Shio Ramen, Sushi, Yakiniku and Yakitori. How I miss eating it all! And of course, their chocolates and cup noodles. They are the best!
  6. The Government. They are taking care for the welfare of their people. Families are well monitored. Although their health insurances are high, taxes as well but they would all benefit from it. They have financial supports to the children of each families. And how industrialized their country are.
  7. Their tourist destinations. Few to mentions are the Disneyland, Odaiba Bridge, Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Main streets, and more.
  8. Their train, buses and bicycles.
  9. The night bars, drinks and restaurants. You wouldn’t really feel lonely, for sure you will have some fun as there are lots of night bars to enjoy the night. Great drinks and superb restaurants. I remember a restaurant serving different spaghetti specialties, the serving sizes and their taste are awesome!
  10. None the less, beauty parlors, salon and spas are included. You will not regret the haircut and styles you would like. The price is right.

So these are the unforgettable experiences I had with during my travel. I wonder when can I get back there again. It was already my fourth time visiting Japan. For more information about Japan, you can visit https://www.japan.go.jp/japan/
